Sandpit Cost Calculator
Estimate the cost of a sandpit. The size and the materials or finish are the main cost drivers, along with site preparation and access.
Your sandpit details
Your estimate sits within the typical range.
Use washed play-grade sand (not builder's sand) and lay a weed mat with some drainage underneath so it dries out. A cover or lid keeps cats and leaves out, the main thing that keeps a sandpit usable.
💰 Ways to save
- A DIY kit costs far less than a custom build if you are handy, but factor in your own time and tools.
- Level and clear the site yourself where you safely can, you are paying trade rates for any prep otherwise.
- Get a few quotes and ask what the base or slab adds, it is often a separate and underestimated cost.
