💡Australian passport holders currently get a visa exemption for tourist stays in Thailand, but the rules have moved more than once recently. Check the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade advice on smartraveller.gov.au and the Royal Thai Embassy site close to departure, and make sure your passport has at least six months validity left.

💡Budget separately for travel insurance. Thailand is a scooter country and most policies exclude motorbike injury unless you hold a valid Australian motorcycle licence and an international driving permit, which is the single most common reason Australian claims get knocked back.

💰 Ways to save
  • Move your dates out of the January and Easter school holiday peaks if you possibly can. Late April, May and early June carry the same flight distance but routinely price $400 to $700 per person cheaper on airfare alone, and island accommodation in the low season often runs at half the December rate. If you are locked into school holidays, book the flights around ten to eleven months ahead when the schedule loads rather than hunting for a late sale that rarely comes in peak.
  • Fly into Bangkok and buy domestic legs separately rather than booking one through fare to Phuket or Samui. Thai domestic carriers price a Bangkok to Phuket hop at roughly $60 to $110, while the same leg bundled into an international itinerary is often $200 or more. Just leave a real buffer between arrival and the domestic flight, because a missed connection on a separate ticket is entirely your problem.
  • Skip the airport currency counters and the dynamic currency conversion prompt at Thai ATMs. Thai ATMs charge a fixed 220 baht foreign card fee per withdrawal regardless of amount, so take out larger sums less often, and always choose to be charged in baht rather than AUD. A travel card or a fee free debit card plus a handful of large withdrawals will beat exchanging cash in Australia almost every time.
  • Book the first and last night of a beach leg only, then extend on the ground. Small guesthouses and mid tier resorts in Krabi, Chiang Mai and Koh Lanta price walk in and direct rates below the online travel agent rate, and the saving is real once you are past the peak weeks. Keep the flexibility for the middle of the trip and lock in only the nights that carry a hard transfer or tour connection.

Frequently asked questions

Will showing prices put customers off?

It does the opposite. An indicative range with a clear “request a quote” filters out unrealistic budgets and warms up serious buyers before they call.

Do I need a developer or a custom build?

No. The calculator for your trade is already built. You set your prices, add your colour and logo, and it’s live in about two minutes. No agency, no expensive custom build, no code beyond pasting two lines (or you can just share the link).

What does it cost?

It’s free, forever. Your branded calculator with 8 leads a month delivered instantly, no card. Want every lead the moment it lands and your branding only? Pro is $29/mo. Business ($59/mo) adds flagship quote builders, lead routing and CRM/Zapier. Upgrade only when it’s paying for itself.

What if I don’t have a website?

You still get a hosted link you can drop into your Google profile, Instagram bio or email signature. It works the same as the embed, and every enquiry lands in your inbox.

Where do my leads go?

Straight to your inbox the moment someone submits, with their name, contact and the job they priced. You can change the inbox (or add more on Pro) any time.

Can it handle different destinations?

Yes. Price by destination, trip length and travel style, so the estimate fits the traveller and the lead tells you what they are planning.
